WHAT DOES
IT TAKE?
Do you have what it takes to be a part of NSI? Look through each section here to see if you can complete the requirements.
You must meet the below criteria in order to be eligible for the NSI program:
- Be a United States citizen
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate accredited college degree program with rising junior,
senior, recently graduated or graduate standing
- Have a declared major, minor or concentration in one or more of the following: International Relations, Homeland
Security Studies, Political Science, Area Studies; Arabic, Middle East, Near East, or South Asian,
Accounting/Finance, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering/Architecture, Law Experience, Law
Enforcement or Investigative Experience, Military Experience, and Physical Sciences; Biology, Chemistry, Math,
Nursing
- Speak Arabic and have a rating score of 1+ or higher in speaking proficiency as measured according to the
Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) skill level description detailed on this website
- Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Be capable of passing all background investigations including successfully passing a polygraph test and
adherence to the FBI application policy criteria such as the FBI "Employment Drug Policy" and other Employment
Disqualifiers criteria as detailed in http://www.fbijobs.gov/52.asp
- Have lived, worked, or studied abroad (considered a bonus)
- Have experience working with ethnic or religious minority groups (considered a bonus)
